        Al Kron, age 74, died February 21, 2010, at his home surrounded by his family and 
friends. Al was a retired General Motors mechanical engineer of 35 years. After 
retirement, he became a successful entrepreneur starting Party Tops and owning 
two car washes. He enjoyed his many friends and family and loved spending time 
with his grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Jeanette 
(Crump); children, Kevin (Patricia), Keith (Laura), Karen (Jeff) Yanssens; eight 
grandchildren, Jeffrey, Janelle, Emily, Jessica, Rachel, Elena, Allison, and Michael. 
He is also survived by his brother Walter. Al was a wonderful husband, father, 
grandfather, brother, uncle, friend and most of all, mentor. He will be missed by all. 
Funeral Mass was held at St. Germaine Church in St. Clair Shores, February 26, 
2010, at 10 a.m. followed by a luncheon. Contributions can be made to Solanus

        BEDERKA, JAMES A .Died February 22, 2010 age 51. Beloved husband of Lori 
(Tirpik). Loving father of Katie and cherished son of Albert and Ruth. Dearest

the late Chris. Visitation: Thursday and Friday 3-9p.m. with Rosary at 7p.m. Friday

        Frank Andrews passed away on May 16, 2010 at the age of 86.  Frank's  WWII US 
Army service (initially in the Cavalry) was featured in previous issues of the 
Companion. He served with valor in the South Pacific campaign. His 50-plus years 
with GM were primarily spent in CEC's Test Laboratory - Instrumentation

        Arnie Stenzel died at age 84 on April 23, 2010.  Arnie had 43 years with GM. Arnie 
had endured several years of Parkinson's disease with complications from injuries 
sustained in a fall. At Chevrolet, Arnie served as Supervisor of the Heating and Air 
Conditioning Design Group, then Engineer of the Corvette. Away from CEC, he 
especially enjoyed golfing trips to Florida.
        
        
        
        
        Elsie Mize of Sterling Heights, passed away on August 15, 2010. Elsie retired from 
General Motors in 1987, having served over 27 years of dedicated service. She 
loved to travel and was an active volunteer at the Troy Public Library. Funeral 
Services were at the Gramer Funeral Home in Clawson. Online condolances may be

        Earle Stepp passed away on August 3, 2010. Earle has held several executive 
positions at GM. At one point he was Director of Electrical & Chassis Systems. He 
was a member of CERC for many years.

        Joe Ruhala - longtime CEC employee and CERC member passed away on 
Thursday, August 5, 2010. Funeral was at St Daniel Catholic Church in Clarkston.
        
        
        Denise McKellar died at the age of 78 on August 8 2010. Denise was survived by 
his wife Anna, and two sons, Kevin(Jerri) and Mark. His funeral was at St Mark 
Orthodox Church. Denise worked many years in the transmission group at CEC.
        
        James L. Carlisle, age 86, of Rochester Hills, died October 18, 
2010. An U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a recipient of the 
Purple Heart, he was a Design Engineer with General Motors – 
Chevrolet Division and was very involved with designing the 
Corvette. He retired in 1981 after 27 years of service to General 
Motors. A member of the SAE and the CERC, he served on the 
Harper Woods City Council for many years and was past mayor 
pro tem. He was also actively involved with the Avon Players for 
many years and was a former president of the organization.
A celebration of James' life was held at the Rochester 
Community House on Friday October 22 at 12:30 PM. Interment 
was at the Great Lakes National Cemetery.
        
        
                Bill Pronovich passed away on Saturday, December 11. His family received friends 
Tuesday 2-8 p.m. at A.J. Desmond &Sons,2600 Crooks Rd. (between Maple &Big 
Beaver).   Funeral Mass was Wednesday 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas More, 4580 N. 
Adams (between Wattles and Long Lake). Prayers at funeral home at 9:15 a.m. 
followed by procession to church. Memorial tributes to Beaumont Hospice.
        
        
        Carl Jarema passed away on Tuesday,DEC. 21-2010 at Genesys Hospital in 
Grand Blanc MI. Carl was 86 and suffer with Parkinson for 17 years. Carl was a 
design engineer and worked at CEC for 41 years. He is survived by his wife, 
Aileen.
